The greatest obstacle to effective and comprehensive health care in the developing
country is the inability to provide enough physicians to work in the periphery.
Not only the distribution of doctors in sufficient numbers over the country is important for
the provision of adequate health care, but also so are their professional qualities.
If the health services are to work properly in a given country, the doctors and staff must
be of the kind that country requires.
This means that they must have been trained in such a way that their skills, knowledge and
attitudes are appropriate to the role they are require to play in the health organization.
It is essential that the training model for doctors and he curriculum should relate to their tasks.
The faculty aims to promote the understanding and application of Islamic values and traditions
in all aspects of the practice in medicine.

This curriculum has been the subject of investigation and evaluation. We have tried to
draw on the experience of other colleges of medicine in different countries and several
curricula have been reviewed.
Meetings, so which leading medical educators were invited, were held so discuss the
design of the curriculum.
We are conscious that this curriculum we have adopted requires continuous review in the
light of feedback from staff and students. That is why the curriculum committee of the
