It is a matter of pride and satisfaction to introduction
you to university of Benadir
which, within a few years , has grown into a reputable
institution in Somalia. The university is recognized by world health organization
(WHO) as a education provider in Somalia.
The civil war in Somalia has deprived the Somalia children of their right to education.
Thanks to the Somalia
intellectuals who, after feeling the need to revitalize the
country’s educational system, established educational institutions. Otherwise, a
number of Somalia generatons
would contribute to the development of the country.
Despite the hardship faced, the university has grown remarkably and learned fromits experience. Started with a single faculty, faculty of Medicine, the university
of Benadir currently has the following faculties: faculty of medicine, faculty of engineering and technology,
faculty of education, and faculty of computer sciences and information technology.
I congratulate the members of the faculty, administrative staff and the students
for working in unison. It is due to their efforts that Benadir university enjoys
its high reputation. To the new students, I look forward to welcoming you to Benadir

History
For nearly a decade there was no higher educational
institution that would produce qualified doctors and other professionals. A large
number of qualified Somali doctors have either become the victims fo the civil war
or fled from the county in search of better livelihood and security.
In response to this need,
a group pf Somali doctors, after thorough analysis of the situation, have decided
to reverse the gloomy scenario of the situation. In this regard, they have established
Benadir University.
The university started with
a single faculty, the faculty of medicine however, on the basis of innovative and
strategic vision of the university, we have added other important disciplines. Currently Benadir university has 4 faculties wit more than 500 students.
The programs of the university
are designed to develop the personality of the students and prepare them for playing
their role in the development of the country. The university of the Benadir strives
